About KIPP

KIPP Academy Lynn is a new public middle school which opened its doors August 9, 2004. Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, KIPP Lynn is serving grades five through eight.

KIPP Lynn works with a population of students who have been historically underserved - 87% of our students qualify for the free or reduced meal program and many enter below grade level.

Our students are 56% Hispanic, 24% African-American and 20% Caucasian.

KIPP Academy Lynn is a FREE public school modeled after the nationally recognized, tested and proven Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) in the South Bronx, New York and Houston, Texas. These schools work with a population of students similar to Lynn and, as measured by standard test scores, are the highest performing middle schools in their school districts. Principal Josh Zoia was a teacher at KIPP Bronx and was instrumental in building the success of the school. He brings that same knowledge and enthusiasm to Lynn.
