KIPP Academy Lynn is a college-preparatory middle school focused on all the following components:
- Rigorous school schedule:
- School Week: 7:20-5:00 Monday through Thursday, 7:20-3:00 Friday
- Saturdays: Optional, Approximately two Saturdays per month from 9:00-1:00
- Summer School: Mandatory, three-week summer session for all students
- KIPP Committment to Excellence, a pledge to uphold the high expectations and values of the school, signed by students, teachers, and parents
- Experienced and dedicated teachers available by cell phone in order to help students with homework, other questions and emergencies
- Outdoor "experiential" education component, including field trips and activities throughout the year
- Earning rewards and opportunities
- Weekly updates on student progress and behavior provided for parents
- Follows the national KIPP model featured on 60 Minutes
